Team-Based Learning is a special form of in-class collaborative learning using a specific sequence of individual work, group work with immediate feedback, and applying material to a specific problem. This process shifts the learning paradigm, students move from passive to active learners, course goals shift from knowing to applying, and instructors are no longer "on stage," but guide learning. Finally, Team-Based Learning creates a motivational framework in which students increasingly hold each other accountable for coming to class prepared and contributing to discussion.
